I'm spending the weekend in my hometown of Ohio - we celebrated my nephew's first birthday today!
And of course, it was nice to spend Father's Day with my dad even though he was a bit overshadowed by the main star of our family.
In running news, I just completed my first two weeks of the FIRST training plan in preparation for the San Jose Rock n Roll half marathon. It's my first time trying this out and so far, so good. Of course, my plan is slightly modified but I like incorporating the speed workouts into my training plan. Normally, I only follow a plan to determine the distance for the long runs and then just do 2-3 shorter runs during the week with some cross training. But it's cool to now have some structure to the weekday runs as well. And surprise, surprise, I actually really enjoy the track workouts for interval training!
Will post more later this week but need to get ready for my early flight tomorrow. I fly back to Cali Monday and then head back out on Tuesday for a quick work trip to Vegas.

What a cutie!!! And yay Ohio! I'm from Ohio originally too!
The speed work in FIRST helps a ton too. Keep at it and it'll work for you.
Hi Audrey
Very cute picture. Honestly, as hard as it is the speedwork will really help you. It makes all your normal speed workouts seem so much easier.
Best of luck and I imagine that San Jose will come up really fast.
