A hodgepodge of updates for today... first, I did get in a quick run over the weekend - nothing too exciting:
ORN:
3.0mi
0:31:27
Avg pace: 10:29min/mi
Avg hr: 169bpm
I've also seen a fun tag floating around and I wanted to play along. Here are my five latest obsessions / addictions:
1. Lint shaver
This came in real handy yesterday for a particularly fuzzy coat of mine - what a great invention!
2. MAC Viva Glam V lipstick
I've almost finished the entire tube - that never happens!
3. Anti-glare screen for my iPhone
Now you don't see my messy fingerprints anymore!
4. Rimshot & Crickets iPhone application
This thing continues to crack me up to the point of tears! It's a free app that gives you a big red button for four different sound effects - a rimshot (to punctuate the end of a joke), crickets (if someone is telling a really long and boring story), trombone (waa-waa-waaaaaaaa sound ideal for pity parties), and golf claps. I've used it during a staff meeting (only once!) and a dinner party and it is hysterical!
5. Rock Band drums
Because I rock.

Do any of your non-running/blogging (also known as non-virtual, haha) friends read your blog? Most of my friends know I have blogs, but hardly any of them read them unless I specifically email them a link for a particularly interesting post, like a marathon race report or something. Not all of them run so I can understand that but they don't even read my pop culture one, either. But then again, most of my friends aren't really "blog readers"... they don't even know what Google Reader is. For example, I know one of my good friends thought I literally visited over a hundred different websites a day. Please!
I do have two good "non-virtual" friends that faithfully read both of my blogs. These very dear friends of mine both recently had their first babies this week - welcome baby Alex and Sahana to the world!!!

On a final note, I am thinking about using one of those online logs to track my runs and bike rides. I have most of the data in my Garmin but it might be cool to have a tracker on my blog as well. Do any of you have any recommendations? I looked at a couple... I am wondering if there was one that also allowed you to enter shoe data so that you could monitor how many miles you had on a specific pair. Let me know if you have any scoop!

Great list of favs...
I think my 'rents are the only ones that really check in on my blog from time to time. I told all family members about it, but I am sure they lost interest when I would drop terms like body glide, fartleks, intervals, speed, endurance, etc. LOL.
Try Map My Fitness. Most of my non-virtual friends don't read my blog, but a few do and my parents read it but other than that it's just out there in la-la land.
I don't think any of my non-runner friends read my blog or know about google reader. I wish they did sometimes b/c I feel like I tell the same story over and over...it would be easier if they just read my blog =).
I use BuckeyeOutdoors and I LOVE IT! It tracks everything...running, biking, swimming, elliptical, strength and stretching...plus "other." I've heard good things about Map My Run as well but have never used it myself.
JUST downloaded Rimshots & Crickets. Thanks for the hot tip. LOVE. This will come in SO HANDY!
:)
My parents and a lot of my non-runner friends (which is basically all of my non-virtual) friends read my blog.
...At least, I'm assuming that's where a lot of the hits on Google Analytics are coming from!
I love the drums on Guitar Hero--but man, I suck at them!
Cool post. You rock!
I don't think of my non-running, non-blogger friends read my blog, now that I think about it. I sent it to my sister and she's like...ugh, I don't know about running. LOL.
I use breakingthetape.com and I love it...it's simple and easy to use. I use buckeye for miles only because I'm on the 'bad girls of running' group challenge but to be honest, I don't really like that site too much. See what you like best!
P.S. I'm addicted to the Viva Glam IV lip gloss!
Your other friends suck....hahaha! I will get baby Alex addicted to reading your blogs too.
Love the big red button - I would have LOVED to have seen the reaction to it in your meeting. Too funny!
See that, everyone? Even in the hospital right after giving birth, she still checks my blog. What a pal! :D
None of my non-runner friends read by blog..I think they get sick of me talking about in person, so reading about it might be too much! lol and I also am a huge fan of Viva glam! MAC rocks!!
I use Buckeye Outdoors also. I have to plug in the data from my Garmin into the website, but I haven't investigated if they have an upload feature yet.
And no one reads my blog. Once in a while, my cousin. Other'n that - zip.
I'm with Maritza! I use Breaking The Tape. Super easy to use. I believe they have a show tracker thingy on it as well. I just don't know how to use it :P
A few of my non blogger friends pop in from time to time but mostly it's just you homies!
so much good stuff in this post! i can't wait to get that iphone app!! i love the crickets thing.
99% of my non-running friends do NOT read my blog. i have one bff (he was my man of honor in my wedding) who reads but never comments, because he once wrote an epic comment that got deleted when he tried to post. so he emails me his own comments!
i started using daily mile because the interface is so cute. they are also working on a facebook link which i think will be a but twitter like. i also use log my run b/c it has lots of old data of mine and it seems a shame to lose it all.
Great post! I need a lint shaver, too!
I never think my relatives/friends read my blog but then occasionally one of them will surprise me by knowing something I only blogged about...;)
i have no idea what the google reader is but i have your both of your blogs bookmarked for easy access.
that anti glare thing for the iphone rules. i dont even remember what the screen looks like without it.
My dad is a faithful blog reader which I think is really cute. And I've had boys read my blog...and possibly even scare one off because I was friggin' active. Hmmm.
Anyhow, I started using Buckeye Outdoors. I like the little widget I can have on my blog, and I find it handy for tracking more than just running - swimming, spinning, biking, weights, eliptical. You create equipment profiles so you can keep track of mileages for your shoes...bike, you name it!
I use logmyrun.com
I don't think any of my non running friends read my blog either.
Oh, I am almost done with Breaking Dawn!
i have a couple non-running friends that read my blog all the time and a few just occasionally. i know my mom definitely reads it :)
i have that lipstick!
Only a few people in my life know that I have a blog, and those that do mostly don't read it with one or two exceptions. I like to keep it away from my real life friends so I don't have to feel censored :)
I dont even know what google reader is!! How bad is that? haha..and now some of my non virtual people are reading my blogs and it freaks me out. I tend to be dorky in my writing..and now I fear everyone knows how truly dorky I am!! haha And people just randomly text me saying they read my blog..I was like ughh..how did you know I had one?..freaky!
